John Thomas White

John Thomas White is an individual whose name and bookplate appears in a number of different books which are held in the University of Canterbury Rare Books collection. John Thomas White is a relative of Frank White (1910-2001) a Hororata Sheep and Cattle Farmer who bequeathed his books to Lincoln University before Lincoln University transfered them to the University of Canterbury in 2001. The books that have the John Thomas White Bookplate include an 1818 edition of The Works of Samuel Johnson, LL. D., an 1807 The Poems of Ossian translated by James Macpherson and an 1839 edition of The Poetical Works of Lord Byron
